Multiple techniques for measuring exoplanets orbiting white dwarfs

Dimitri Veras
University of Warwick

Planets orbiting white dwarfs have been detected through photometry, spectroscopy and imaging, and soon astrometry and microlensing will be included in the mix. Understanding how to consolidate this wide variety of detection methods in this emerging area of exoplanetary science will be important as the number of discoveries mount. Here, I will summarize the detections of the handful of planets known around white dwarfs, look towards discoveries in both the immediate and far future, and suggest ways that these methods can combine with theory to provide a unified picture of planetary system fate.
